The Julie Penrose Fountain was designed, built and installed in American the Beautiful Park, in her honor.  Julie Penrose was the wife of Spencer Penrose considered the founder of Colorado Springs.  He built the famous Broadmoor Hotel at the base of the mountains.  Together they contributed much of their wealth to the city and created a Foundation that continues to benefit the city as well as the state.

We are glad to introduce our new River Fly Fishing Guide, Mark Williams has access to some of the best fly fishing waters in the Gunnison County as well as a comprehensive stock of top quality fly fishing equipment in his store on Main Street.

Covering Gunnison, Taylor and Lake Forks Rivers. Big Blue, Henson, Cebolla, Cochetopa, Saguache, Ohio and Tomichi Creeks. We offer daily half day or full day guided fly fishing trips from April through October.

The day begins at Dan's Fly Shop Gunnison at 9am. Full day trips end back at the shop at between 4.30 and 5.00.

The Pueblo Greenway is a system of trails that connect downtown Pueblo with trails at the Pueblo State Recreation Area west of the city.  These trails are popular with hikers, joggers and bikers.  Along the way are picnic areas, Nature Center, a restaurant and the Arkansas River and ponds for fishing.  A busy place even in winter.  RowedeanLone TreeCottonwood trees along the Arkansas River and trail
