Julie Penrose Fountain

The Julie Penrose Fountain was designed, built and installed in American the Beautiful Park, in her honor.  Julie Penrose was the wife of Spencer Penrose considered the founder of Colorado Springs.  He built the famous Broadmoor Hotel at the base of the mountains.  Together they contributed much of their wealth to the city and created a Foundation that continues to benefit the city as well as the state. 

The children of the city enjoy the pools of the Fountain all summer.  Rowedean
