2009 was a great year for Mesa RV Resort, we had a wonderful season and we look back with fond memories. We made many good friends and we wish you all the best for 2010 and hope to see you all in the summer.
I am posting two images, the 1st of the cowboys on Cattleman Days is my favorite of the photos that Francie took, it is the image that conveys best the spirit of Gunnison.
The second is Francie's favorite of all the images I took in 2009. It is the Gunnison River at sunrise.

In 1985 Francie and I visited the USA for the first time on an extended honeymoon. We bought a VW Beetle in Milwaukee for $350 and in 6 months we traveled 36 000 miles visiting 41 States. We finished up in New York where we sold the Beetle for $40 before flying home on the 28th December 1985. A trip of a lifetime!

The dry stone walls in this area are amazing they have been built in the most inhospitable terrain, this one is a classic example going straight up the mountain. Where the soil is shallow and there is a lot of rock the walls divide most of the fields. They are built using no mortar so that they can move with the changing seasons. Most of them were built hundreds of years ago.

Taking the dogs for a walk along the trail at the side of the Reservoir this path wandering through the trees caught my eye, it was almost dark so I used a tree to brace my camera against. I like the moody feel of the final image in B&W.

This sunrise was taken on a trip to Namibia in 2008 just after we had bought the Resort. Namibia is a country with huge photographic potential. It is for the most part arid with large deserts along the coast but the central and eastern parts of the country are grassland ideal for cattle and game. It has a very low population density. For more photos of Namibia check out my website: www.allanivy.com.

Hope you have a great day, and an exciting new year. We are going to miss you in Colorado!
"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible."
Keep dreaming with your eyes open!

Beretta is an Italian Spinone with the emphasis on Italian. Can you imagine an Italian Pointer
"piano, piano, domani, domani"
"Slowly, Slowly, Tomorrow, Tomorrow"
There must be a flower around here someplace!!

Taken two years ago outside the front gate of our home in the UK just before we set off on a walk. A very rare moment when I was able to get all four dogs to behave.
